Are good workplace industrial relations more necessary now than ever before? Many news sources and unguarded Union leader comments suggest an increased appetite for strike actions.

This very recent article from The Guardian makes some broad assumptions about the state of the economy as it tries to pull out of austerity, and encourages workers to use trade union muscle to get what they want. However, pay awards and relationships with Unions, do not have to be confrontational and can end in a win-win if handled correctly.
