Breaking Bubbles
With all the discussion about household, school, work and all the other types of bubbles, its important to remember what is sometimes the loneliest bubble, the one you inhabit in your own head.
The pandemic has created a pervasive sense of unease in many people. Real or anticipated fear of sickness, job loss and isolation all contribute to increasing existing stress and worry often creating new problems of their own. The lack of an outlet for these thoughts, or an unwillingness to trouble those close to you can increase the sense of disquiet and seclusion, leaving small problems you would normally crush seeming insurmountable.
When allowed to build up, and fill your own bubble these thoughts can get overwhelming.
As an accredited coach I have had much success in helping with the process of unburdening. Often just a matter of talking through problems to gain more perspective, and helping to devise planful ways to overcome them and build success. These could be personal issues, or looking for a way to leave, start or improve employment, or even just to break separate problems into smaller more manageable targets.
Where practical I like to combine sessions with exercise, usually just walking and talking, or it can be just over a coffee. In either case just the act of externalising worries starts the process of seeing them for what they are and formulating plans and actions to overcome them.
